The Eye of Ra
We worked with the team at Glaetzer Wines to develop an exclusive package for an exceptional wine produced by the very talented winemaker Ben Glaetzer.
The Shiraz represents the very best of the famed Ebenezer district in the Barossa Valley. The fruit was hand harvested from low yielding, aged vines and offers a bouquet of radiant intensity showing astounding depth and volume. Due to the dark and brooding nature of this wine and the inky depth of colour, it was decided that the design would be ‘black on black’ to express the unique characteristics of the wine.
The 'black on black' design presented some challenges but special print finishes and embellishments were used to achieve subtle highlights on the black label (and box) as well as delivering the high-end premium cues befitting such a prestigious offering for subscribers and collectors or as a high value corporate gift.
In Egyptian mythology, The Eye of Ra was the powerful feminine counterpart to the sun god Ra. The symbol depicts the sun surrounded by two protective cobras and wings.
