The city’s positioning was vague and had no strong association with any unique attribute. ‘Broad Horizons, Bright Future’ had a unique resonance with the city’s distinctive cliffs and coastline, as well as stating a positive attitude to the future.

Programs as diverse as the city magazine, annual reports, strategy documents, community and event material, library and other services documents have all been created by Motiv for the city.
